About Me
I've had the privilege of knowing what I wanted to do for a very long time. Granted, when I was 10 I used to tell people 'Inventor', but when they retorted that that wasn't a real job, it quickly changed to Physicist. Having also lived/worked in a startup, although terrifying, I enjoyed the sense of agency that came with it.
I love to read and watch film but the real red thread is that I'm annoyingly curious. As such, I've had many fleeting interests throughout my life. Some fade, others stick around longer than expected. I'll get obsessed with something for months, convince myself it's just a distraction, and then years later realize it actually mattered. The pattern is always the same: I need to understand how something works, and then I need to do something with that understanding. I can't just leave it theoretical.
Looking back, that 10-year-old wasn't entirely wrong. I just didn't have the vocabulary yet. What I really wanted was to understand how things work and then build something with that understanding. The startup taught me I thrive when I have that agency, and physics gives me the tools to understand the world at a fundamental level. Turns out, you can have both, you just have to be willing to figure it out as you go.
My ultimate goal in life is to combine my love for physics with my incessant urge to create something that is my own and, for lack of a better word, birth it. But for now, I'd be happy to learn as I try to figure out what I don't know.
